ANTI-CORRUPTION COURSE FOR AFRICAN MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT
23 – 27/04/2007, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICAN MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (ESAMI)
The Course was organized by the Parliamentary Centre of Canada, under its Anticorruption program funded by DANIDA. Three APNAC MPs and 1 member of Civil Society Organization (CSO) from each of the following countries: Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania. 27 participants including APNAC chair Hon. Ruzindana attended the Course. APNAC Tanzania was represented by Hon. Dr.Zainab Gama (MP) Chairperson of APNAC-Tanzania, Hon. Vita Kawawa (MP), Hon. Lucy Owenya (MP) Emmanuel Ole Kambaine from Civil Society and Brown Gideon from Bunge Secretariat.
The program was designed to help Participants to: understand and appreciate the complexity of corruption, its causes and consequences. Understand necessary tools for anti-corruption reform, come up with pilot projects on anti-corruption reform, acquire monitoring skills and relate theory with practice through site visits.
