APNAC SECRETARIAT

The headquarters of APNAC is based in Nairobi, Kenya. The Secretariat is headed by the Chairman of APNAC, Hon. Augustine Ruzindana. According to the APNAC Constitution, the Secretariat:

Keeps records of membership, including national chapters , and promotes new membership and affiliations;
Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the various organs of the organization and, in particular, supports the Executive Council;
Collects and disseminates information concerning the organization and its members and any national chapter ;
Assists in the formation of national chapters
Ensures that the organization's membership is well informed of its programs and activities;
Maintains liaison and co-ordinates activities between the organization and other groups or institutions;
Coordinates the organization's representation and conferences;
Handles finances, keeps the records and archives of the organization; and
Is the permanent HQ of the organization

Members of staff of the Secretariat

And the Secretary:

Assists with all communications between APNAC chapters and the Secretariat;
Makes travel arrangements for the APNAC Chair;
Provides administrative and organizational support to the APNAC Chair as required;
Assists with the organization of APNAC meetings and conferences;
Provides input on the APNAC website and newsletter;
Provides accounts to the Parliamentary Centre for all APNAC office expenses and activities being funded from Ottawa; and
Liaises with the APNAC program officer at the Parliamentary Centre on all APNAC issues.
